William Sargent, PhD

Dr. Sargent began his career in academic medicine followed by 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, five years in the medical communications industry, and a consulting practice begun in 2012. Within this varied background, he has developed expertise in regulatory affairs, clinical trial development and execution, drug development strategies, medical affairs activities, and medical communications. All of these disciplines are critical to developing a drug from the test tube to FDA approval independent of starting in a pharmaceutical or an academic laboratory. In the pharmaceutical industry, he held executive positions at five companies. His previous industry positions include President and General Manager of Lorex Pharmaceuticals and Sr. Medical Director and Team Leader for Anti-angiogenics Products at Pfizer. He is currently an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute at Northwestern University.
